This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Bancostore collects, why we collect it, and how we protect it, whether you're shopping as a customer, registering as a distributor, or interacting with us in any other way through the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you give us directly, and information generated by your use of the Platform:

• Account information: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored securely hashed, never in plain text).
• Order information: delivery address, delivery zone, and the products, quantities, and prices in each order.
• Distributor information: your sponsor and binary-tree placement, IR ID, rank, personal and team PV, and commission/wallet history.
• Identity verification (KYC) information: for distributors, government ID images (front and back) and a live selfie, collected and verified through our identity-verification partner, Didit, before your first withdrawal.
• Payout information: for distributors, the mobile money number and network used to receive withdrawals.
• Payment information: processed directly by our payment partner, Paystack — Bancostore does not store your card or full Mobile Money details on our own servers.
• Communications: messages you send us through the Contact form, including your name, email, subject, and message.
• Technical information: standard web request data (such as IP address) used for security, fraud prevention, and rate-limiting.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account, and authenticate you when you log in;
• Process and fulfil orders, including delivery and customer support;
• Verify your identity for KYC and prevent fraud;
• Calculate and pay distributor commissions, and process withdrawal requests, including any tax withholding required by the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA);
• Send you transactional communications — order confirmations, OTP codes, withdrawal/KYC status updates, and password-reset emails — by SMS (via mNotify) and email;
• Maintain the security and integrity of the Platform;
• Comply with our legal obligations, including tax and financial record-keeping requirements.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

Bancostore is committed to handling your personal information in line with Ghana's Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843). We process your information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (fulfilling orders, paying commissions), to comply with our legal obligations (tax, KYC), or with your consent where applicable (such as marketing communications, if any).

5. How We Share Your Information

We share information only where necessary to run the Platform:

• Paystack — to process payments and distributor payouts;
• Didit — to perform identity (KYC) verification for distributors;
• mNotify — to deliver SMS messages (OTP codes and notifications);
• Google (Gmail) — to deliver transactional email, and, where enabled, to offer Google sign-in;
• Regulators and authorities — such as the GRA, where required by law.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a further period afterward as required to meet our legal, tax, and financial record-keeping obligations, or to resolve disputes.

7. Data Security

We protect your information with industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), securely hashed passwords, mandatory two-factor authentication for admin accounts, and access controls limiting who at Bancostore can view sensitive information.

8. Your Rights

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain financial and tax records for a required period. Contact us using the details on our Contact page to make a request.
